Getting Started with your Affiliate Internet Marketing Home Based Business

Basically the principle of earning money online as an affiliate is simple:

Affiliate marketing means, you sell other peoples products and get a commission for it. There is nearly no risk or investment on your side, but you can make good money with it. Sometimes even more than 50% of the price for the product you are promoting.

That quickly can add up not only for an additional income or some extra bucks, but for being enough to even quit the day job and work from home for a full living. A lot of people do this already. How does it work? Read on below..
  

Affiliate and Internet Marketing. 

How does it work? It's quite simple: Implement links to affiliate program products, such as you can find on Paydotcom or Clickbank or click2sell, into an advertising platform, make sure this advertising platform will be found by visitors (people) and wait for the sales coming in.

Of course in detail it is not that easy, but principly it is not more complicated as well.

You need products with an affiliate program that you can promote: you find them on the Paydotcom, Clickbank and click2sell Marketplaces (and there are others as well). This part is easy.

You need the a.m. advertising platform to implement your links to. This part sounds easy. But it requires some knowledge and skils that you can learn. It is no rocket science, and once you know how, you will admit every 12 year old could do it (and boy, some DO!).

The advertising platform can be in various forms, and you can combine various tactics as well. Fastest is PPC advertising, best is building your own website.

PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising is fast as the ads you set up will be displayed almost immediately (Google Adwords for example) but it requires permanent investment as what you do is setting up advertisement with your link in and Google will place it within their search results and other websites.

As told, this costs money. If you are new to this I would not recommend to start without prior reading about Adwords Tactics. Otherwise you risk to loose more money than you earn.

Best is your own website (with it's own domain). Website building today is easy if you use powerful tools like xsitepro. You do not need to know anythin about website html coding or the like. The software will do it all for you on a "what you see is what you get" basis. Similar to a Word Processor. It is really not more complicated.

A website with your domain will stand there for you day in and day out. A domain costs around 1-2 Dollar a month! You also need webhosting to host your website on it. This is 10-200 USD a month. But forget about the 200 USD as these guys are crooks.

Hostgator really is the best webhost we've ever seen till date and we use them ourselves. They are offering almost UNLIMITED webhosting for under 10 USD per month already. It's not a limited but a full package and offers everything you need.

You will need only one Hostgator webhosting package, even if you're going to create multiple sites, as you can use it for as many domains and websites as you like (for later when your business grows) This monthly domain and webhosting cost is ridiculous low (what do you pay for a package of cigarettes?).

The website editor is a ONE TIME investment in between 250-300 USD. Note I said investment, because that's what it is. There are no more running costs after that!!! Imagine how much you would to have to invest if you'd like to start a standard offline business of whatever kind. Do NOT go for free or other website editors, as they are either too complicated or JUST DON'T DELIVER.

4. Get yourself SEO software to make your pages popular in the search engines. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization (and submission of course). One of the most powerful is Web-CEO and it is free, nothing to pay here. 5. Get yourself a web statistic counter to see how many visitors came to your site and which keywords they where using to find it. Statcounter.com is one of the best, I use it myself and it is FREE.

4. Your ready to go.

Then:

1. Find yourself a niche or two (do NOT try to build a website for everything, you are not CNN or Yahoo...) Find a niche with products worth to promote and build your website content razor sharp around that theme.

2. Write (or re-write) articles about that niche and publish them on your website. Each article will create a new page. It is O.K. to start with 10 pages only. But note this is an ongoing process. Add 1-20 pages every day (depending on the time you can spend on your new internet business)and your site will grow large, well known and prosperous over time. Do not expect to make many sales immediately. It will take weeks and months before you will see first results.

3. Submit your site to the search engines (you can use a SEO tool as listed above for that, and/or submit directly to google. There is a form on the Goolge homepage webmaster section). Note it can take up to several weeks until the search engine spiders will visit your page and index it.

4. Ask other webmasters in related niches to link to your page. This will help you to rank higher in the search engines plus bring some additional visitors via those links.

5. NEVER GIVE UP; even if you think it won't work for you. As told, it will take some time to make a lot of money. 99% of internet businesses fail, because they do not go through the first year, which is the hardest one. Be persistant and focus on your goal!

Most important: treat internet marketing as a business!

Divide your time in approx. 20% learning (reading ebooks etc.), 10% answering eMails, 10% checking your website stats etc., 60% DOING means building websites, content articles for them etc. The internet is based on TEXT (not banners and images). Search engines find you that way.

The more content, the more pages and the more chances a visitor will find your site and will buy something via your affiliate links. Website content really is not only king. It is money!

Learning is important and an ongoing process as well. Learn to know more, getting better, more effective and faster. You can skip back to our website time by time to read more about internet marketing, website creation, search engine optimization (SEO) and affiliate strategies.

Do not hesitate to invest a few dollars into "how to" ebooks, but do not buy every crap on the market as well. There are very useful guides however, that can really help and teach you alot. Don't try to find out everything by your own. This would be more expensive and with the ebooks you can shorten the learning curve and start making money faster.
